*This* is my kind of book! Smart, textured, wholly absorbing and absolutely heart wrenching, the story grabbed my attention and didn’t let go until I turned that last page.
Beautifully written, richly evocative, with characters that are flawed yet relatable, Laura Dave writes in graceful prose. At the heart of the story is about the love a father has for his child and a stepmother who is willing to go to any lengths to keep her safe. Written with such heart and emotion I had tears in my eyes by the end, the book ultimately asks how well do you really know the people you love?
