Her Daughter’s Mother by Daniela Petrova
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
A beautifully told, emotional domestic suspense novel, Her Daughter’s Mother was compelling, disturbing and thoroughly enjoyable. It explores themes of motherhood, obsession and the price of betrayal when a beautiful woman unexpectedly disappears after becoming an egg donor to an infertile couple.
The tension ramps up as Lana, our protagonist searches for Katya when Katya goes missing. I loved the movement between these two protagonists, as well as Tyler, Lana’s ex, who’s also the baby’s father. Each character was captivating and perfectly executed, the pacing consistent, the writing beautiful, and the themes poignant and real.
I thoroughly recommend this character-driven thriller.
