A beautiful family drama novel about learning to be strong in the face of unimaginable tragedy. Nina’s seemingly perfect life is shattered when her husband, Finn, is killed in a car accident. Suddenly Nina is left bereft, in massive debt, with no savings, and everything Nina thought she could rely on unravels as she learns that the life she was living was a lie.
Amanda Prowse is a skilful author, and The Art of Hiding is no exception. Sensitive and beautifully written, I really enjoyed this quick read. It is a character-driven novel, moderately paced, focusing on Nina and her children and how they overcome all the obstacles that life throws at them.
