The Two Lila Bennetts by Liz Fenton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
A dazzling, Sliding Doors-esque suspense novel in which a woman must face the person she’s become and choose who she wants to be. The Two Lila Bennetts is mind-bending, twisty, and unputdownable, asking questions like can one small decision shape your life, and is it ever too late to change the person you’ve become?
I recently read The Good Wife and loved it so much I went and bought this book straightaway, and I think I loved it even more than The Good Wife! There was never a point where I knew who had captured Lila – there were so many possibilities and my mind changed with every chapter. As authors Liz Fenton and Lisa Steinke expertly twirl you from clever twist to clever twist, you never have a clue what the outcome will be.
In The Two Lila Bennetts, Lila is a successful defense attorney with some decidedly dicey morals, but then her choices catch up with her. Beautiful & cleverly crafted crafted, this is a character driven suspense novel that had me gripped from the first page. I highly recommend!
