Still See You Everywhere by Lisa Gardner
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
A fresh, atmospheric and mesmerizing conclusion to the Frankie Elkin series!
Frankie Elkin is one of my favorite protagonists ever, hands down. She is strong, but broken, courageous, but afraid, hard but sensitive and compassionate. She’s instantly relatable, experiencing the whole range of emotions that humans do.
When she’s called upon by an unusual client, serial killer Kaylee Pierson, to find her missing sister, Frankie sees a chance to do something she’s been as yet unable to do: find someone who’s still alive. Her investigation takes her to a beautiful, remote island and a group of misfits as she goes undercover at a resort being developed by a tech mogul.
A serial killer. A vulnerable teenager. A billionaire egomaniac. A sexy project manager. Every character is unique and fully developed, and Frankie’s funny comments to Crabby (the crab that stays just outside her cabin) and Wolfy (the spider inside her cabin) add dollops of humor to lighten the narrative. And as Frankie races to find out the truth behind one dead body, one missing teenager, and one remote eco-resort, she must learn to come to terms with herself and the things she’s done in her past.
A glorious, sharply insightful story with a dark, atmospheric heart, Gardner takes us on a marvellously malevolent journey into the final Frankie Elkin book with style. This one’s a knockout!
So Cool!
