She’s Not There by P.J. Parrish
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
A fantastic, twisty thriller about Amelia, who’s suffered a traumatic accident and can’t remember why she’s on the run. But before her husband is informed, Amelia manages to escape. She doesn’t know why, she just knows she has to.
This book explores losing your memory and living on instinct, going completely based on your gut, which was intermittently exhilarating and frustrating, but in a good way. The only fault was the protagonist, Amelia, was difficult to connect with, but that’s usually the case with characters who have problems with memory. Still, the story itself was so fast-paced, thrilling, intriguing, and compelling it almost didn’t matter. The most intriguing and relatable character was Buchanan, the hired PI, and I hope another book is released following his story.
