The Overnight Guest by Heather Gudenkauf
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This one deserves all the stars! I know I’m a bit late in the day here, but this is probably my top thriller all year! Absolutely intoxicating, engrossing and impossible to predict, I loved this gritty, elegant thriller.
True crime writer Wylie Lark is snowed in at an isolated farmhouse where she’s writing her new book about a crime that happened in the farmhouse where she’s staying. But then she discovers a small child out in the snow.
We have three timelines, each as creepy and mesmerizing as the last, and all seamlessly come together in the end with a jaw-dropping twist. I was racing through the book to find out how it would end.
Pacey, sharp, and exceedingly clever, this book is truly one of a kind!
