The Maid by Nita Prose
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
One of the best feel-good books I’ve read in a long time, I absolutely fell in love with Molly Gray! She is warm, delightful and unique, and the entire story was lovely and fun throughout.
After the loss of her grandmother, Molly feels adrift and a little lost in life. She has a hard time understanding some things, which her grandmother always helped her navigate. But Molly has a keep calm and carry on spirit and she throws herself into her work as a maid at her favorite place in the world, The Grand Regency Hotel.
But one day she finds a wealthy guest of the hotel dead in his bed. And she becomes the police’s prime suspect. There are nefarious activities going on at The Grand Regency Hotel, but Molly can’t seem to figure out what they are. Fortunately, she has friends she never knew she had who all unite to help her.
With a perfect cast of characters who come alive on the page and a protagonist that is compelling and beautifully written, you won’t soon forget this book. A much-needed burst of light that’s intoxicatingly original, clever and completely surprising.
