In the Waning Light by Loreth Anne White
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I absolutely loved this book! A fantastic crime novel with well drawn and developed characters. It follows Meg, a true crime author, whose sister was horrifically murdered when she was a child. Meg witnessed the crime but can’t remember much about that day. While appearing on a chat show Meg is asked about her sister’s murder. Deciding that she needs closure, she heads home to investigate her own true crime.
Loreth Anne White was a new author to me, and I will be looking out for her other books now. In the Waning Light had me constantly guessing who the ‘bad guy’ was. The suspense was high, the prose eloquent, the scenes vivid and the characters well written. It is a romantic suspense, although the romance is minimal in this one. It’s mainly a crime who-dunnit with a lot of tension and a page-turning plot. I highly recommend.
