For Your Own Good by Samantha Downing
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
A delightfully twisty and wickedly fun thriller that takes a fresh spin to privileged academia. I love every Samantha Downing novel, and For Your Own Good is no exception. It’s fun, dark, and beguiling. Teddy Crutcher is our protagonist and he’s as charmingly psychotic as we’d hope. He’s one of Belmont Academy’s top teachers, having won the Teacher of the Year award last year. He knows what he’s doing. He’s tough on his students for their own good.
But then someone is murdered. And another. And suddenly we have a serial killer at Belmont High. As the bodies pile higher, I had no idea where the book was going to go and genuinely didn’t predict the ending in any way.
Playful, and clever with a wry, comedic wit, this is one thriller you definitely won’t want to miss out on!
I can hardly wait to get my hands on this! (And plot twists notwithstanding, your rainbow story shows far more imagination than a lot of stories by 7-year-olds! 😉
