False Witness by Karin Slaughter
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Wow! My mind is absolutely blown! What a brilliant book. It’s dark, gritty and fast-paced, everything you want in a thriller, but it’s so much more than that. It’s a story of two sisters who share a heart-breaking secret from their past.
Leigh has worked hard to forget the past, while her sister Calli is still mired in it. When a case lands on Leigh’s desk – a case that could make her career – her carefully constructed life begins to crumble. Because she knows him. And he knows what she did. And now, if she can’t get him acquitted, she’ll lost more than just this one case. The only person who can help her is Calli.
This is suspense at its finest. Smart, textured, while being human and moving. I literally got chills there at the end. One of Slaughter’s finest.
