The Girl Before by J.P. Delaney
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
A fast, gripping read with a brilliant plot line and twists around every corner. The concept of this book was so unique I was immediately interested, and my interest never waned throughout my read.
The story follows Emma (in the past) and Jane (present), who have both previously been damaged in some way and moved into 1 Folgate Stree. With its cutting edge design by architect Edward Monkton, this house is no ordinary house. When Jane finds out Emma died in that house, she sets about finding out who killed her and why.
The setting of the house is spectacularly done and Delaney has done a masterful job at developing the characters. The novel is dark but alive with emotion drawing you in to the characters’ stories and you’ll be guessing until the end ‘whodunnit’.
