Saving Sophie by Sam Carrington
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
The premise for this book is really solid. It’s a great ‘what would I do if…’ novel. Karen’s daughter is brought home one night by the police, but the next morning she can’t remember what happened. And then one of Sophie’s friends is found dead. Suspicion falls on Sophie, and Karen, who is house bound after a horrific attack years earlier must find the courage to leave the house and help her daughter find the real killer.
I liked the story, but Karen I found a bit grating. I wanted her to get a bit of guts earlier on and leave the house and help her daughter, but there was an awful lot of time spent on her just hating herself because she couldn’t. I did, however, like the mother/daughter storyline about making right vs. wrong choices.
