Missing Pieces by Heather Gudenkauf
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I read somebody describing this book as a ‘thoughtful thriller,’ which I found really apt. This isn’t a fast-paced thriller but is written eloquently and has such a strong ‘what if’ to it that I couldn’t put it down. I love Heather Gudenkaulf and think she’s such a genuinely talented writer, so I was excited to read this book. I wasn’t disappointed.
The story follows Sarah, who uncovers earth-shattering secrets about her husband’s family. Years before his mother was murdered in unexplained circumstances. And now his beloved aunt Julia has been hospitalized after an accident. Soon secrets and lies come to light, leaving Sarah uncertain about the man she married.
Well-drawn characters and beautiful, eloquent writing, it’s another fantastic book by Gudenkauf.
