Don’t Close Your Eyes by Holly Seddon
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Holly Seddon is great at writing believable, relatable characters. I found Don’t Close Your Eyes completely different from her first book. It’s more a domestic suspense with themes on betrayal, guilt and mental health than a psychological thriller, but that being said, it’s a great book in its own right with a totally unexpected twist I didn’t see coming.
The story follows Robin and Sarah, twins who lived with different parents after a difficult divorce as teenagers and grew up completely different lives. Flipping between Robin and Sarah’s POV, 1st and 3rd person, and a story set in the past and present, it could have been hard work, but Holly Seddon skilfully and masterfully weaves the story to an intriguing, gripping conclusion. A very enjoyable read by one of my newest favorite authors.
