My Girl by Jack Jordan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This story follows Page, who lost her daughter 10 years previously, and more recently, her husband committed suicide. She’s gone off the rails, drinking herself to death, when she realises strange things are happening in her house.
My Girl starts off great, with a great premise and excellent character building. It does, however, veer to a decidedly dark place about midway through. Jack Jordan does an excellent job of writing a character at the absolute rock bottom. A different type of psychological thriller, but well written and imagined.
