Street Team Rules & Guidelines
Thank you for joining my street team! The idea is simple: together we can help more readers discover my books through genuine reading, reviewing, sharing and word of mouth.
This is also a community. We’re here to support each other, engage with each other’s content on social media, celebrate each other’s wins and have fun along the way!
- Be Genuine
- Only promote books you’ve actually read or content you genuinely support.
- Share your honest opinions. You are never required to give a positive review or specific rating.
- Don’t make claims about the books that aren’t true or that you can’t verify.
- Help Boost on Social Media (support the community!)
When you see a post from me (or a fellow street team member) you’d like to support:
- Like, Share or Repost it.
- Leave a comment.
- Tag readers who may genuinely be interested.
- Create your own posts, stories, videos or other content if you wish.
- You don’t need to engage with every post. Quality and authenticity matter more than quantity.
- Read and Review
- Make an effort to read books you’ve agreed to review.
- Post honest reviews on relevant retailers, book sites or social media.
- Don’t copy reviews, post multiple reviews under different accounts or arrange fake reviews or engagement.
- If you’ve received a free or discounted copy, disclose this where required by the platform or applicable rules.
- Promote Responsibly
- Share official links, graphics, quotes and information when available.
- Follow the rules of the social media platforms and groups you’re using.
- I won’t micromanage your reviews, but please don’t tag me in negative posts.
- Don’t spam groups, comment sections or private messages.
- Don’t pressure anyone to buy, read or review the books.
- Be Respectful
- Respect readers who don’t like the books. Reading is subjective, we can respect everybody.
- Don’t argue with, attack or harass reviewers or other readers.
- You are supporting the books, but you are not expected to defend them in every discussion.
- Keep Advance Information Private
If you receive an advance copy or unreleased information:
- Don’t share or distribute the manuscript.
- Don’t post spoilers before the agreed date.
- Don’t share unreleased covers, excerpts, plot details or announcements.
- No Pressure
Being part of the street team is voluntary. You are not expected to:
- Buy every book.
- Share every post.
- Post on a set schedule unless we agree otherwise.
- Spend money to participate.
- Give a particular review or rating.
- You can take a break or leave the team at any time.
- The Golden Rule
Be genuine. Be respectful. Be real.
