An absolutely wonderfully written literary thriller, but man, was I let down by that ending! But still, I was blown away by everything else. The writing is exceptional, the character building truly a masterclass, the plot intriguing. I couldn’t put the book down.
Part thriller, part police procedural, the story is sad without everything neatly tied up in a bow at the end, but it also shows that, especially with cold cases, we don’t always get all of the definitive answers and justice doesn’t always fall into place the way people want and hope it will.
Haunting, beautiful, and unforgettable!
