When I Kill You by B.A. Paris

Compelling and intriguing with dual timelines and alternating perspectives, When I Kill You is a vividly written psychological thriller with a dark atmosphere that seeps through the pages. We switch between Nell being stalked by someone in the current timeline, and the past, in which she stalked someone else, leading to something horrific occurring. This alternating between the two perspectives builds the suspense steadily, albeit a bit slowly. There were moments the story felt a little drawn out, with pages dedicated to mundane things like going out to dinner or walking to work. But it does allow for more character development and the story does build to a well-crafted, unexpected conclusion. A dark, gripping and enjoyable mystery.
