The more I read of Jane Harper, the more I love her writing.
Set against the bleak and dangerous Australian outback, The Lost Man is a beautiful story of loneliness, grief and redemption.
The scene opens on a gruesome death. Cam, the good brother, the one everyone liked, has somehow become stranded out in the outback, dying from exposure and heat. But this is no accident. Someone caused this to happen.
As the story of family secrets unfolds, we learn about the dynamics of the three brothers, Nathan, our protagonist, Cam (the victim), and Bub, the youngest brother, and the puzzle slowly notches together.
A gorgeous and lyrical crime thriller that is hypnotic, heartbreaking and poignant, you won’t want to put this one down.
