The Burning Girls by C.J. Tudor
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
How am I so late to the party on this one? The Burning Girls is AMAZING! I absolutely loved both Jack and Flo. In fact, I loved Jack so much, I’d be interested in a sequel. She’s a flawed but strong protagonist, a mother, a reverend (not usually my cup of tea, but it works), she has a dry sense of humor and some excellent points on philosophy, religion and motherhood. I was gripped from the first sentence.
The story is fast paced and atmospheric, an engrossing mix of suspense, horror and the supernatural. It’s richly evocative, deliciously dark, and just creepy enough to keep you on your toes. Loved every second of it!
