The Marriage Lie - Kimberly Belle

The Marriage LieThe Marriage Lie by Kimberly Belle
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is my first book by Kimberly Belle, and I absolutely loved it! An outstanding domestic suspense read that had me hooked from the first page. Belle writes in a clear, easy-to-understand way, with very little flowery prose so your focus is on the plot, yet she absolutely nails her characters so you feel like you could run into them on the street.

Iris always thought that her marriage to Will was perfect. So when his name shows up on a list of passengers killed in an airline crash, she is devastated. Especially as he wasn’t supposed to be on that flight. As she investigates the truth of her husband’s deception, Iris begins to realize that Will may have lied to her about more than just which airline he was on.

A taut, twisty story with plenty of suspense, The Marriage Lie was unputdownable, asking what you would do if confronted with lies and deceit from the person you love most. It isn’t dark and gritty, like Lisa Unger, but is more along the lines of Mary Kubica or Heather Gudenkauf, focusing on subtle suspense and character-development, so it’s a perfect read for fans of domestic suspense.
